LendingTree Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback

From Everything.Sucks

LendingTree is the largest online lending marketplace in the United States. It connects borrowers with multiple lenders so they can find the best deals on loans, credit cards, deposit accounts, insurance and more. LendingTree allows borrowers to shop and compare competitive rates and terms across an array of financial products. Founded in 1996 and launched nationally two years later, the company is headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina with offices in the San Francisco Bay Area, New York City, Chicago, Seattle and others.

A dissapointed customer said this in a review: "This marketplace is garbage, it doesn't serve my goal of connecting with lenders. i don't recommend it, it's just a waste of time. I hated using LendingTree."

Outbound Contact Representative (Current Employee) says

"Poor Management skills for the so call Leaders of the Call Center and they micro manage the employees. People are leaving to fulfill their worth as a person at this Company. Cons: Health Care, Vision, Pto"

N/A (Current Employee) says

"It is professed that you have great autonomy and can work in a fast paced startup mentality. The casual clothes and beer socials make it seem a great place till you get to know the counter culture. There are many masquerading in shorts and T-shirts with political selfish agendas and a corporate outlook. Competition amongst different teams and backstabbing "clicky" counterproductive activities occur daily with unnecessary drama. Autonomy of design and creativity is not allowed. Everything is a focus on speed and not quality and anyone who works to create truly outstanding work is shunned and eventually leaves. Cons: Worst management team I've ever worked under"

Outbound Contact Center Agent (Former Employee) says

"Poor Managers that used abusive language toward employees on the floor. I was told I could advance after 6 months then told by Human Resources that I would have to spend at least a year in the Call Center due to their loss of several major clients"

Customer Service/Sales Associate (Former Employee) says

"I worked here for seven years. In that entire time, I received one raise, and I had to threaten to quit to do so. Since I was a top performer and a senior rep, they gave in after working there for five years. Cons: Management, benefits, compensation"

"You were set up to fail daily. No opportunity for advancement. Departments were not cohesive. The workplace culture was negative and cliques were very prevalent. Not an enjoyable job and company to be a part of."

Sales Representative (Former Employee) says

"I worked at LendingTree before it was LendingTree, it was a Ovation Credit Services and that was AWESOME. After the acquisition about 2 years into my employment with Ovation, LendingTree destroyed the culture and community and gobbled up all the excellent pay for employees and it ultimately trickled up to LendingTree HQ. in short it’s a call center, you get what you deserve there! Cons: Just corporate greed taking down another small institution"

Sales (Current Employee) says

Analyst (Former Employee) says

"Good benefits but the new comp plan implemented in July 2019 was a real balloon-popper as it deflated the entire moral of the sales force Naturally they changed the comp plan after I got hired Very stressful customer base of broken people with sub-par credit scores"

Credit Analyst (Former Employee) says

"If you are used to making over $50k per year, then I would think hard about working for this company. They dangle a carrot in front of you the whole time. You hardly ever make the money you intended to make. If you are not the breadwinner in your household and your okay with making minimum wages most of the time then I would recommend. Otherwise find a better job! There definitely out there. Cons: You don't make very much"

Outbound Call Center Agent (Former Employee) says

"Contact center culture is no longer family oriented, more cut throat every man for themselves. Typical day is 8 or 9 hours long, sometimes overtime is offered, but not often. If you're new hire, you will always work Saturdays."

Customer Care Representative (Inbound) says

"No true growth, Just a job, not a career. The catered meals aren’t to bad, they do not micro-manage. Typical day taking call, pretty chill but boring. Cons: Boring, no growth within company, some rude customers sometimes, and pay"

"You don't get no raises only a monthly commission and that's based on your call transfers. They do not promote from within and there is no room for growth."

"People are nice. Sometimes we would have to stay over time to get the job done. The best part of the day was going home on Fridays. Worst part was the stress of people who could not get the job done."

Outbound Call Center Representative (Current Employee) says

"Awful people work here and they are slowly becoming everything they said they weren't during the interviews/orientation/training. The people who work here act like they are in high school and popularity matters and they spread lies like we are children. It is not a good work environment. Cons: awful people"

Director (Former Employee) says

"Very easy going culture but somewhat political near the top and slow to pivot technology-wise. Whether you enjoy your job here really depends on which team you are staffed on."

Loan Officer/Loan Processor (Former Employee) says

"Handling of Inbound and outbound leads in hopes of completing customer goals through Mortgage options. I leaned about Loans from origination to funding. Co workers were amazing and highly competitive. Cons: Unstable"

"Never used before and have no reason to"

Mark Zeller says

"Only reason I am giving 3 stars is because it did get done. The lender was the real issue. They went as far as to ask for a passport to get the loan closed. I've never heard of such a thing. No...they didn't get it."
